Mike Stubbs, artist, curator, mentor, currently producing a new immersive art commission for Higgins Museum & Bedford Creative Arts and producing a new mobile public artwork for Folkestone Trienalle for later this year. 12 years CEO of FACT, Liverpool, Stubbs commissioned and curated over 350 exhibition programmes all around the world. including White Noise for ACMI, Melbourne, the Nam June Paik retrospective with Tate Liverpool, working with many artists including Agnes Varda, Teching Hsieh & Pipilotti Rist, and is mentor to many emerging artists and curators. He is the co-founder of Abandon Normal Devices and ROOT festivals. Interests: ecology, transport & technology, stem from the exhibition, Strata for York Art Gallery and Museum of Contemporary Art, Panama.
He has won more than a dozen major international awards, including the Barbara London Prize, Echigo Tsumari Trienalle. He is Honorary Professor at Liverpool University & UTS, Sydney, made FRSA and awarded a Fleck Fellowship, Banff, Canada in 2002.
